Tide Risers Foundations is an individualized learning process that guides women to step up to their leadership potential. Over the course of four 90-minute online interactive sessions, you'll learn to amplify your strengths, overcome obstacles, and develop your own leadership principles. Each session will be offered twice in March and April 2023 to enable you to work with the timing that best suits your schedule.
--REGISTRATION DEADLINE: February 20--

Our Foundations course will orient you to the Tide Risers framework of living with our leadership principles of Abundance, Authenticity, Ownership, and Courage. This framework will give you the building blocks to enable you to play a leadership role in your own life while building meaningful relationships with other members of our powerful community of female-identifying leaders.

Who Is This For?

Tide Risers Foundations is designed for female-identifying professionals seeking to expand their skills in a community dedicated to lifting one another up.

We strongly recommend this course for women who are new to Tide Risers, as it gives you the foundational skills to begin your Tide Risers journey, and helps you build strong relationships within our community.
"The Tide Risers network is an invaluable tool. In launching my practice, I brought in new clients, collaboration partners, and staff from Tide Risers, thanks to its unique programming that allows for easy, meaningful networking

I have found it to be one of the most valuable assets to building my connection to other like-minded people."

Dr. Katie Takayasu, Integrated Health MD and Founder of Wellness Insights

"Lara was instrumental in helping me see and break patterns that were leading me into poor directions, giving me back the power I had lost sight of, in order to mold my existing 'job', into a career that I wanted and felt proud of. I was able to refresh my story by highlighting the principles and behaviours I wanted to keep at the forefront, bringing a new approach to my team, peers and the industry overall."

It really reinvigorated my excitement about doing my work. My manager has talked about how she believes I am bringing all my values to the work again."

Accountability Groups

At the beginning of the Foundations experience, you will be thoughtfully assigned to a small BeSpoke Group of four to five women with whom you will work throughout our sessions.

Members of your BeSpoke Groups will become your accountability partners and will enhance the Tide Risers experience by enabling you to:

  • Practice new skills and explore challenges within a trusted community of support;
  • Create accountability partnerships for check-ins on progress and obstacles; and
  • Build deeper relationships with a smaller group of members.

Course Overview

We offer each session twice, so that you can choose the time that works best for you.

We recommend that you attempt to stick with the same timeframe throughout, but if you need to mix and match to accommodate your schedule, that's fine!

While our membership spans 9 time zones, all dates below are listed in Eastern time. Each session is 90 minutes in duration, and is live, online, and interactive.

Each session will include about 30-60 minutes of independent pre-work to prepare you.

Session 1

Manage Your Inner Critic

March 1, 8:30am ET OR March 2, 2:30pm ET

We've all got one: that little voice in our head that tells us we can’t do what we want to do; we're not qualified; not smart enough; not good enough. That voice is called our Inner Critic. When we give our Inner Critic too much air time, it can become a part of our identity and can have a detrimental impact on our self worth, reinforcing stereotypes and preventing us from living out our intentions.

The inner critic is, however, there to protect us, and trying to silence it or argue with it is not an effective way to manage it. Instead we need to recognise it, acknowledge its role, and make it an ally in our work to advance our intentions. This session will teach you how to do that.

Session 2

Amplify Your Strengths

March 13, 8:30am ET OR March 14, 2:30pm ET

Do you sense your colleagues don't know what you're capable of? This session will guide you to learn more about your strengths, amplify them, and communicate them effectively.

For a lot of people, but especially women, talking aloud about strengths can feel awkward, or even wrong. We're taught from an early age that we shouldn't brag, show off, or self-promote too much. Often we follow these unwritten rules to our detriment, as managers, peers, and others in our lives may not be able to see our full value and potential if we ourselves are not able to talk about our accomplishments comfortably. So we’ve designed this session to give you the tools to find your strengths, take ownership of them, and share them with grace and conviction.

Session 3

Develop Your Leadership Principles

March 21, 8:30am ET OR March 22, 2:30pm ET

Leadership Principles are a concise set of 4 to 6 principles that serve as your north star and enable you to lead with conviction, make strategic decisions driven by your values, communicate your unique personal brand, and play a leadership role in your own life.

This session will strengthen your ability to communicate and demonstrate your personal brand and your leadership style through the development of your own individualized set of leadership principles.

Session 4

Accountability Check-In

April 25, 8;30am ET OR April 26, 2:30pm ET

Taking place one month after our previous session, this accountability check-in is designed to enable you to consolidate your learning, review and refine your leadership principles, and reflect on the progress you have made.
